Why is Jesus taking so long to return?  What is He waiting for?

I will attempt to answer this question without adding a lot of details that may make this blog difficult to get though…lol.  So here we go!

Jesus is our Bridegroom, but many Christians don’t understand what that means.  In Jewish tradition, if a man wanted to marry a woman, he went to the woman’s father and asked for his permission to marry his daughter.  The father would then inform the potential groom of the “bride price” or “ketubah.”  If the potential groom agreed to this price, he would pay it or, if he didn’t have enough money, he would leave and work until he had saved up the entire amount.  Then he would return to the potential bride’s father weeks, months or years later with the amount agreed upon.

(Let me state clearly here that the bridegroom was not “purchasing” his wife.  The “ketubah” is belongs to the wife and is used to support her and any children they may have had together in the event the marriage was dissolved.)

When the “bride price” was paid, the potential bride would be asked to make a decision as to whether she wanted to marry the potential groom.  The potential bride was offered a cup of wine.  If she drank from it, then the agreement was made.  The groom would then go back to his father’s house to prepare the bridal chamber.  This preparation could take up to a year to be completed. That’s not the end of the ceremony, but let’s stop here for a moment and compare this with what Jesus did.

The cup of wine:  Jesus offered us that cup of wine at the Last Supper.  When the disciples took the wine offered by Jesus, they were accepting Jesus offer for a new life with Him in His Father’s house.  When we take communion, we are remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made in order for us to be with Him for eternity.

The bride price (ketubah):  Jesus’ desire is that we should all believe in Him and live with Him forever, but there was a “ketubah” that was required.  What was this “bride price” that Jesus paid?  It was a price that no one had ever been asked to pay in the history of the world, and a price that would never be asked of again.  That price was Jesus’ life.  He paid the “bride price” by being beaten, whipped, spit upon, degraded and then crucified upon the cross.   He paid the ultimate price to the Father for His bride (all true born again believers in Christ).

Back to His Father’s house:  When Jesus went to heaven, He went back to His Father’s house to “prepare a place for you.”  He went to go prepare the bridal chamber.  How great is that!!!

Now back to the marriage ceremony
During the time that the groom was preparing the marriage chamber, the bride would wear a veil to signify that she had been promised in marriage to someone and that she was no longer single.  Anyone seeing her would know that she was “off the market” because of her appearance.

The veil:  Today, all true born again believers in Christ have this “veil”… this symbol of our promised marriage to the Bridegroom.  That symbol is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  It is He who is in us and covers us and causes us to live our lives in a way that people can look at us and say, “He/She belongs to the Lord.”

Now as the bridegroom is preparing the bridal chamber, the bridegroom’s father keeps an eye on the progress.  It’s only when the bridegroom’s father says the bridal chamber is ready that the bridegroom can go and retrieve his bride.  To do that, he gathers his male friends together in the middle of the night and heads off to the bride’s father’s house.  They carry torches and make quite a bit of noise on their way there, including blowing the shofar. The bride constantly anticipates the groom’s arrival.  When the bride knows the bridegroom is coming, she prepares herself.  It’s an exciting time for everyone.  The bridegroom and his friends then whisk the bride away to the bridal chamber where they remain for seven days while everyone else waits for them to emerge at the end of this period.

Waiting for the Father to say go:  Jesus is preparing a place for us (mansions) and is preparing the marriage feast.  As the Bridegroom, He must wait for the Father to say that everything that needs to be done is completed and that He can now go and get His bride.

Anticipating the Groom’s arrival:  We’re told in bible to be prepared for the Lord’s return at all times.  Don’t fall asleep or assume that the Lord will be long in coming, because the Bridegroom can come at any time.

Making noise:  Jesus will come with the angels, making a lot of noise.  There will be a shout of the archangel and a trumpet will be sounded.

The Bride is taken:  He will come at that exciting moment and steal us away to be with Him forever.

Seven days:  Just like the bride and groom would be in the bridal chamber for seven days, we will be with the Lord for seven years.  When the seven years is up, we will exit the “bridal chamber” and return to earth with the Lord at His second coming.

God created the wedding ritual, the Jewish feasts, etc… not only to signify an event in the bible, but also to mirror the life of the Messiah.  Jesus is our Bridegroom.  He is preparing the bridal chamber for His bride.  He is just waiting for our Father to tell Him to come back and retrieve His bride.  When He does, there will be a great shout and the blowing of a trumpet.  At that moment, all true born-again believers in Christ will be changed, at the twinkling of an eye.  We will be changed from corruptible to incorruptible, from mortal to immortal, to finally be with Jesus forever in heaven.

Well I finally did it.  I created my own web site.  It’s called, TRIBULATION HARVEST.” It’s a web site that explains end time biblical prophecy; mainly the rapture and the seven-year tribulation.  I also hope to be able to offer a packet of information for sale on my web site in the very near future.  If you’d like to take a look at my new site, just click here.

I welcome any feedback, good or bad.  Please leave feedback at the web site or here on my blog.  If you leave positive feedback, I may include it on my home page along with some other very glowing comments that I’ve received from others who have visited my site.

God Bless!!!

LIE #1 – Israel was created by European guilt over the Nazi Holocaust. Why should Palestinians pay the price?

Three thousand years before the Holocaust, before there was a Roman Empire, Israel’s kings and prophets walked the streets of Jerusalem. The whole world knows that Isaiah did not speak his prophesies from Portugal, nor Jeremiah his lamentations from France. Revered by its people, Jerusalem is mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures 600 times – but not once in the Koran. Throughout its 2,000-year exile there was continuous Jewish presence in the Holy Land, with the modern rebirth of Israel beginning in the 1800s. Reclamation of the largely vacant land by pioneering Zionists blossomed into a Jewish majority long before the onset of Nazism.

After the Holocaust, nearly 200,000 Shoah survivors found haven in the Jewish State, created by a two-thirds vote of the UN in 1947. Soon 800,000 Jews fleeing persecution in Arab countries arrived. In ensuing decades, Israel absorbed a million immigrants from the Soviet Union and thousands of Ethiopian Jews. Today, far from being a vestige of European guilt or colonialism, Israel is a diverse, cosmopolitan society, fulfilling the age-old dream of a people’s journey and ‘Return to Zion’- their ancient homeland.

LIE #2 – Had Israel withdrawn to its June 1967 borders, peace would have come long ago.

Since 1967, Israel has repeatedly conceded, “land for peace.” Following Egyptian President Sadat’s historic 1977 visit to Jerusalem and the Camp David Peace Accords, Israel withdrew from the vast Sinai Peninsula and has been at peace with Egypt ever since.

In 1995, Jordan signed a peace treaty with Israel but neither the Palestinians nor 21 other Arab states have done so. In 1993, Israel signed the Oslo Accords ceding administrative control of the West Bank to the Palestinian Authority(formerly the PLO). The PA never fulfilled its promise to end propaganda attacks and drop the Palestinian National Charter’s call for Israel’s destruction.

In 2000, Prime Minister Barak offered Yasser Arafat full sovereignty over 97% of the West Bank, a corridor to Gaza, and a capitol in the Arab section of Jerusalem. Arafat said NO. In 2008, PA President Abbas nixed virtually the same offer from Prime Minister Olmert. In 2005, Prime Minister Sharon unilaterally withdrew from Gaza. Taken over by terrorist Hamas, they turned dismantled Jewish communities into launching sites for suicide bombers and 8,000+ rockets into Israel proper. In 2010, Prime Minister Netanyahu renewed offers of unconditional negotiations leading to a Palestinian State, but Palestinians refused, demanding more unilateral Israeli concessions, including a total freeze of all Israeli construction in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

LIE #3 – Israel is the main stumbling block to achieving a Two-State solution.

The Palestinians themselves are the only stumbling block to achieving a Two-State solution. With whom should Israel negotiate? With President Abbas, who, for four years, has been barred by Hamas from visiting 1.5 million constituents in Gaza? With his Palestinian Authority, which continues to glorify terrorists and preaches hate in its educational system and the media? With Hamas, whose Iranianbacked leaders deny the Holocaust and use fanatical Jihadist rhetoric to call for Israel’s destruction?

Today, it is a simple fact that while the State of Israel is prepared to recognize all Arab States, secular or Muslim, these states adamantly refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish State and demand “the right of return” of five million so-called Palestinian “refugees” – a sure guarantee for Israel’s demise.

LIE#4 – Nuclear Israel not Iran is the greatest threat to peace and stability.

Though never acknowledged by Jerusalem, it is generally assumed that Israel has nuclear weapons. But unlike Pakistan, India, and North Korea, Israel never conducted nuclear tests. In 1973, when its very survival was imperiled by the surprise Egyptian-Syrian Yom Kippur attack, many assumed Israel would use nuclear weapons–but it did not. Contrary to public condemnations, many Arab leaders privately express relief that Israeli nuclear deterrence exists. While Israel has never threatened anyone, Tehran’s mullahs daily threaten to “wipe Israel from the map.” The U.S. and Europe can afford to wait to see what the Iranian regime does with its nuclear ambitions. But Israel cannot. She is on the front lines and remembers every day the price the Jewish people paid for not taking Hitler at his word. Israel is not prepared to sacrifice another six million Jews on the altar of the world’s indifference.

LIE #5 – Israel is an Apartheid State deserving of International Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaigns.

On both sides of the Atlantic, church groups, academics and unions are leading deceitful and often anti-Semitic boycott campaigns demonizing what they call the Jewish “apartheid” State.

The truth is that unlike apartheid South Africa, Israel is a democratic state. Its 20% Arab minority enjoys all the political, economic and religious rights and freedoms of citizenship, including electing members of their choice to the Knesset (Parliament). Israeli Arabs and Palestinians have standing before Israel’s Supreme Court. In contrast, no Jew may own property in Jordan, no Christian or Jew can visit Islam’s holiest sites in Saudi Arabia.

LIE #6 – Plans to build 1,600 more homes in East Jerusalem prove Israel is ‘Judaizing’ the Holy City.

Enemies of Israel, exploit this phony issue. Jerusalem is holy to three great faiths. Its diverse population includes a Jewish majority with Muslim and Christian minorities. Since 1967, for the first time in history, there is full freedom of religion for all faiths in Jerusalem. Muslim and Christian religious bodies administer their own holy sites. Indeed, the Waqf is allowed to control Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, even though it rests on Solomon’s temple and is holy to BOTH Jews and Muslims.

Meanwhile, Jerusalem’s municipality must meet the needs of a growing modern city. The unfortunately-timed announcement during U.S. Vice President Biden’s visit of 1600 new apartments in Ramat Shlomo, was not about Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, but for a long established, heavily populated Jewish neighborhood in Northern Jerusalem, where 250,000 Jews live (about the same population as Newark, N.J.) — an area that will never be relinquished by Israel.

LIE #7 – Israeli policies endanger U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The charge that Israel endangers U.S. troops in Iraq or the AF-Pak region is an update of the old “stab in the back” lie that Jews always betray their own friends, and the libel spouted by Henry Ford and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion that “Jews are the father of all wars.”

U.S. General Petraeus has stated he considers Israel a great strategic asset for the U.S. and that his earlier remarks linking the safety of U.S. troops in the region to an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal (which 2/3 of Israelis want) were taken out of context. A resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict would benefit everyone, including the U.S. But an imposed return to what Abba Eban called “1967 Auschwitz borders” would endanger Israel’s survival and ultimately be disastrous for American interests and credibility in the world.

LIE #8 – Israeli policies are the cause of worldwide anti-Semitism.

From the Inquisition to the pogroms, to the 6,000,000 Jews murdered by the Nazis, history proves that Jew-hatred existed on a global scale before the creation of the State of Israel. In 2010, it would still exist even if Israel had never been created. For example, one poll indicates 40% of Europeans blame the recent global economic crisis on “Jews having too much economic power,” a canard that has nothing to do with Israel.

The unsettled Palestinian-Israeli dispute aggravates Muslim-Jewish tensions, but it is not the root cause. During World War II, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, a notorious Jewhater, helped the Nazis organize the 13th SS Division, made up of Muslims. Unfortunately, in addition to respectful references to Jewish patriarchs and prophets, the Koran also contains virulent anti-Semitic stereotypes that are widely invoked by Islamist extremists, including Hezbollah (whose agents blew up the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires in 1994), to justify murdering Jews worldwide. The disappearance of Israel would only further embolden violent Jew-haters everywhere.

LIE #9 – Israel, not Hamas, is responsible for the “humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza. Goldstone was right when he charged that Israel was guilty of war crimes against civilians.

The Goldstone Report on Israel’s defensive war against Hamas-controlled Gaza, from which 8,000 rockets were fired after Israel’s unilateral withdrawal in 2005, is a biased product of the UN’s misnamed Human Rights Council. The UNHRC is obsessed with false anti-Israel resolutions. It refuses to address grievous human rights abuses in Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Cuba and beyond.

Faced with similar attacks, every UN member-state including the U.S. and Canada would surely have acted more aggressively than the IDF did in Gaza.

Yet, Richard Goldstone, a South African Jewish jurist, signed a document prepared by investigators whose main qualification was rabid anti-Israel bias. He accepted every anonymous libel against the IDF. But he insisted that hearings in Gaza be televised, guaranteeing that fearful Palestinians would never testify about Hamas’ use of civilians as human shields and their hiding of weapons in mosques and hospitals. Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz denounced Goldstone’s Report as a modern “blood libel” accusing Israeli soldiers of crimes they never committed.

LIE #10 – The only hope for peace is a single, bi-national state, eliminating the Jewish State of Israel.

The One-State solution, promoted by academics, is a non-starter because it would eliminate the Jewish homeland. However, the current pressures on Israel are equally dangerous. In effect, the world is demanding that Israel, the size of New Jersey, shrink further by accepting a Three-State solution: a PA state on the West Bank and a Hamas terrorist state controlling 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza. All this, as Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy in Lebanon, stockpiles 50,000 rockets, threatening northern and central Israel’s main population centers.

In 2010, most Middle East experts believe that the only hope for enduring peace is two states with defined final borders. But too many diplomats, pundits, academics and church leaders ignore the fact that current polls show that while most Israelis favor a Two-State solution, most Palestinians continue to oppose it.

Sept. 12, 2005 Israel completes its withdrawal of all Israeli civilians and soldiers from the Gaza Strip and turns the territory over to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’s Palestinian Authority.

Sept. 24, 2005  Within weeks of Israel’s full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, Hamas fires a large barrage of rockets from that territory into Israel, injuring 5 Israelis. According to the New York Times, “Hamas carried out the attacks after falsely claiming that Israel was responsible for the explosion of its weaponry during a march in Gaza on Sept. 23 ….” Israel retaliates with airstrikes, and Palestinian groups continue to fire rockets into Israeli towns.

October-December 2005 – In the final three months of 2005, 145 rockets and mortars fired from Gaza strike Israel.

January 2006  Hamas trounces the more pragmatic Fatah party in Palestinian parliamentary elections.

June 25, 2006  Hamas gunmen infiltrate Israel from the Gaza Strip, killing two Israeli soldiers and kidnapping a third. Israel retaliates by launching Operation Summer Rains, meant to secure the release of the captured soldier, Gilad Shalit.

November 2006  Operation Summer Rains ends with Gilad Shalit still held in Gaza.

2006 – An estimated 861 rockets and 57 mortar shells fired from Gaza strike Israel.

June 2007 Hamas forces violently crush Palestinian troops loyal to Abbas, take full control of the Gaza Strip.

2007  An estimated 896 rockets and 740 mortar shells fired from Gaza strike Israel.

Six-Month “Calm”

June 19, 2008  An Egyptian-brokered tahdia, or lull in fighting, between Israel and Hamas officially starts.

June 21, 2008 Two days after the start of the lull, three rockets and one mortar shell fired from Gaza strike Israel.

July 4, 2008  Already during the first three weeks of the tahdia, 11 rockets and mortar shells are fired from Gaza into Israel.

July 23, 2008  Speaking during a visit to the rocket-battered town of Sderot in southern Israel, presidential candidate Barack Obama stated, “I don’t think any country would find it acceptable to have missiles raining down on the heads of their citizens. The first job of any nation-state is to protect its citizens. And so I can assure you that if … somebody was sending rockets into my house, where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that. And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.”

July 27, 2008  Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expresses concern about the continued smuggling of arms from Sinai into the Gaza Strip.

Nov. 3, 2008 Since the start of the truce, about 38 rockets and mortar shells are fired from Gaza into Israel.

Nov. 4, 2008 Acting on intelligence that Palestinian militants were poised to infiltrate Israel and kidnap soldiers, Israeli troops cross several hundred yards into Gaza to destroy a tunnel that was to be used for the infiltration. A firefight erupts between Hamas gunmen and Israeli soldiers. One Hamas gunman is killed. Hamas launches mortar shells at Israeli targets, and an Israeli airstrike kills several Hamas members preparing to fire mortars.

Nov. 5, 2008 Responding to the previous day’s fighting, Hamas launches dozens of rockets and mortar shells into Israeli cities and towns. Israel strikes a rocket launching cell in Gaza.

Nov. 6, 2008 After the previous day’s sharp increase in rocket fire, rocket and mortar attacks against Israel dip to an average of a few per day. This frequency continues until mid-December.

Dec. 14, 2008  Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal says on Lebanon’s Al Quds television that the truce expires after 6 months, and that the group will not be renewing the truce.

Dec. 15, 2008  Israeli official Amos Gilad argues on Israel’s Channel 2 that the truce does not expire.

Dec. 17, 2008  With the end of the truce approaching, the number of rocket and mortar shells fired into Israel increases sharply. Along with the basic Qassam rockets, Palestinians begin to fire a larger amount of relatively advanced and destructive Grad (or Katyusha) rockets. Hundreds of thousands of Israeli civilians live within the area affected by Palestinian rockets.

Dec. 19, 2008  Hamas declares the tahdia to be officially over. During the six-month truce, 223 rockets and 139 mortar shells were fired into Israel from Gaza.

Dec. 25, 2008 A day after about 60 rockets and mortars strike Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud urges Palestinians to stop the attacks, and threatens a powerful response. The rocket attacks continue in the days that follow.

“Operation Cast Lead”

Dec. 27, 2008 The Israeli air force begins wide-scale attack against Hamas targets. Over the next few days, Hamas headquarters, smuggling tunnels, rocket factories and other targets are destroyed; hundreds of Palestinians, mostly Hamas fighters, are killed; Israelis huddled in bomb shelters as scores of Palestinian rockets and mortars are fired into Israel.

Dec. 31, 2008  A Grad rocket strikes a kindergarten in the Israeli city of Beersheva. The school is empty at the time.

2008  An estimated 1,571 rockets and 1,531 mortar shells fired from Gaza strike Israel.

Jan. 1, 2009  Israel bombs the home of Hamas terror leader Nizar Rayyan, killing him and members of his family.

Jan. 3, 2009 Israel ground troops enter Gaza.

Jan. 5, 2009 A Grad rocket hits an empty kindergarten in the Israeli city of Ashdod.

Jan. 6, 2009  Israel expressed regret after about 40 Palestinians at a Gaza school were reportedly killed by an Israeli shell. An initial investigation by Israel concluded that Hamas fighters were likely firing mortars from the area of the school, and that Hamas mortar crewmen Immad Abu Iskar and Hassan Abu Iskar were among the casualties. According to the Associated Press, two nearby residents told reporters “they saw a small group of militants firing mortar rounds from a street near the school…” (AP, “Gaza truce proposed after Israel shelling kills 30,” 1/6/09). The Israeli army pointed out that Palestinians have launched attacks from UN schools in the past.

Jan. 7, 2009  While the head of the UN school denies militants were inside the school, the New York Times quotes a witness in Gaza saying that militants were indeed active in the area, and had even solicited the involvement of civilian children in their activities: “A young witness from Jabaliya, Ibrahim Amen, 16, said that he had seen one of the militants, whom he identified as Abu Khaled Abu Asker, in the area of the school right before the attack. Ibrahim said he saw the militant after he answered calls for volunteers to pile sand around the camp ‘to help protect the resistance fighters.’ Ibrahim went to pile sand near the school with his brother, Iyad, 20, who was then injured by the Israeli mortar fire.”

Jan. 8, 2009 The United Nations Security Council passes resolution 1860, which, among other things, calls for “an immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire, leading to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza” and condemns “all violence and hostilities directed against civilians and all acts of terrorism.”

Jan. 9, 2009  Hamas rejects the UN resolution, with Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marouk asserting that the organization “was not consulted on this resolution, our vision and the interests of our people were not taken into consideration.” He added that “this resolution does not concern us unless someone comes to enforce it on the ground. When it is enforced on the ground, whatever party which tries to enforce it will have to deal with…(Hamas).” Israel also rejects the resolution. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert states that “the IDF will continue operations in order to defend Israeli citizens and will carry out the missions with which it has been assigned in the operation. This morning’s rocket fire against residents of the south only proves that the UN Security Council Resolution 1860 is not practical and will not be honored in actual fact by the Palestinian murder organizations.”

Jan. 17, 2009  The Israeli cabinet votes in favor of implementing a unilateral 10-day ceasefire, conditioned on an end to Hamas hostilities. Hamas insists it will continue fighting.

Jan. 18, 2009 After firing a barrage of rockets into Israel, Hamas announces a ceasefire, conditioned on a withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza within one week. Several more rockets are fired from Gaza after the announcement.

Jan. 27, 2009  Palestinians kill an Israeli soldier and wound 3 others when they detonate a roadside bomb near an Israeli army patrol along the Gaza border. Israel retaliates.

Feb. 1, 2009 Over a dozen rockets and mortars are fired into Israel from Gaza. Israel’s military intelligence chief says that Hamas has not acted to stop the sporadic rocket attacks that have continued since the latest ceasefire, even if it is not itself launching rockets.

Feb. 10, 2009 – Amidst continued rocket fire from Gaza, Islamic Jihad admits that a Palestinian killed while approaching Gaza’s border fence with Israel was on his way to attack Israelis.

Israel: How Much Is Too Much?

You might ask yourself, “How many missiles have been launched against Israel in the past eight years? It’s nothing compared to what Israel has done to it’s enemies.”

Oh really, check these figures out:

Here are the total figure from 2002-2009: 181 Grads – 4,810 Rockets – 6,085 Mortars
Source: https://www.swivel.com/charts/18917-Projectiles-Fired-Toward-Israel-by-Year-2002-2009-

Let’s get real. The Middle Eastern nations were against the Jews getting ANY land in that part of the world, let alone Jerusalem. From day 1 they have schemed as to how to wipe them off the map. As you can see, things aren’t rosey for the little state of Israel. Hamas takes every opportunity to attack Israel, so is it any wonder that Israel has formed a blockaid to prevent weapons from reaching the Hamas leadership? All Israel is asking is that the ships dock in Ashdod to have their cargo offloaded and inspected, at which point Israel trucks the cargo to Gaza at their own expense.

Every country works through the political system of other countries to provide aid, why is Israel any different? If there’s a military blockaid and the only way to get any supplies in to the area is to go through the officials of the country forming the blockaid, you can bet that government officials of the countries seeking to provide humanitarian aid would jump through hoops to form an agreement to get that aid to those who need it most and would follow those rules percisely so that aid would not get cut off. Why is Israel any different? I’ll tell you why, because they’re Israel.

Israel is known as the “little Satan” to many of the Arab nations of the world and the leaders of most of the Middle Eastern countries refuse to even recognize Israel as a state. No recognition, no rules. I guess that’s how the world works.

Land for peace? You’ve got to be joking! The world is demanding that Israel give up even more land to its enemies in order to bring peace to the Middle East. Is history to be repeated again?
One of the most famous “Land for Peace” agreements was between Britain and Germany.

September 15, 1938: British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain set out for Germany to visit Adolph Hitler. Hitler wasn’t asking for too much, just the liberation of the German-speaking areas of Czechoslovakia [the western part of Czechoslovakia called Sudetenland]. It was a sweet little “Land for Peace” deal that would hopefully appease the Fuhrer and give the German-speaking Czechs their “rights of self-determination”, albeit under Nazi control. Fifteen days later the Sudetenland was handed over to Hitler. In exchange, Hitler gives his word that he has no other territorial designs on Europe.

October 1, 1938: Germany now owns half of Czechoslovakia and not a single shot was fired. Before the year ended, Hitler broke his agreement and occupied the remainder of Czechoslovakia.

The following year Hitler invaded Poland. He continued to invade most of Europe, Africa, and Russia and even bombed Chamberlain’s very own Britain. Needless to say, the duped Chamberlain was replaced rather quickly by Winston Churchill. The Brits had THEIR fill of “Land for Peace!” And that was just one example!

The policy of “Land for Peace” logically entails the surrender of Israeli territory whenever Arabs threaten war. As anyone may see from the US House of Representatives Task Force Report on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare issued on December 10, 1996, the territorial shrinkage of Israel following the Oslo peace process has triggered a “frantic military build-up” by Arab and Islamic states that now see an opportunity to annihilate the Jewish State.

Question: Can Israel be certain that peace will never be withheld again by those who receive the land?
Question: What will happen if surrendering land reduces Israel’s ability to defend itself from those who will occupy the surrendered land?

Many may say, “Well, we won’t know until we try.” And if it fails, it will be too late to save the country and its people. Israel will be gone.

Fortunately, biblical prophecy does state that although Israel will be attacked in the future by a large and powerful coalition, God will intervene and destroy all but one sixth of the attacking forces, saving Israel and bringing glory to His name.

Praise be to the Lord God Almighty!!!

While those dwelling on the earth after the rapture are suffering through the seven seal judgments and the trumpet judgments, there will be something else going on. Two men appeared in Jerusalem at the beginning of the seven-year tribulation, just as peace was declared and as the first seal was opened.

[3]“And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.  [4]These are the two olive trees and the two lamp stands that stand before the Lord of the earth.  [5]And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way.  [6]These have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.  [7]When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them.  [8]And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.  [9]Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.  [10]And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.  [11]But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them.  [12]And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, ‘Come up here.’ Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.  [13]And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.”  Revelation 11:3-13

These two men will suddenly appear on the scene in Jerusalem. They will begin proclaiming the gospel and provide hope for those who have been left behind. Their message will be one of repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. As the scripture states, they will be able to prevent rain from falling for 3½ years. They will also have the power to turn water into blood and cause all kinds of plagues on the earth.

As you can see in verse 6, they will also be invincible (for a time). But in verse 7 we are told that after their 3½ years, Satan in the form of the Antichrist will be allowed to kill them. Not only will their dead bodies be left in full view of all, but the world will actually celebrate their deaths to the point of giving each other gifts.

One thing about a party… it always has to end. God takes care of that little detail a few days later. In verse 11 we’re told that after 3½ days, God breaths life back into their bodies, causing everyone to experience great fear. Then God’s voice, audible to everyone, commands them to return to heaven. In full view of everyone present and everyone watching on their television, computer or cell phone, they rise up to heaven on a cloud!

While everyone is panicking and trying coming to terms with what they’ve just experienced, there is a terrible earthquake that destroys a tenth of Jerusalem and kills seven thousand people. Those who survive realize that God is real and that Jesus is their Messiah and they give glory to God.

Shortly after he kills the two witnesses, the Antichrist, the world dictator, will declare himself to be God and that is when life on earth gets really bad.

My Notes:

Though their true identity will not be known until their arrival, the Two Witnesses have the same powers demonstrated by Moses and Elijah.

Moses: Appeared with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration.
Elijah: Appeared with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration.
NOTE: These were not “spirits” of dead men, they were alive and in a physical form. Why else would Peter want to construct three tents (one for each of them)? Had they been in spiritual form, they would have no need for a shelter or resting place of any kind.

Moses: Had the power to turn water to blood and cause all kinds of plagues.
Witness: Has the power to turn water to blood and cause all kinds of plagues.

Elijah: Prayer resulted in no rain for 3½ years.
Witness: Will be able to stop the rain for 3½ years.

God will manifest the Law and the Prophets once again. In the Old Testament, the Law and the Prophets spoke mainly to Israel, but here, they will speak to the entire Earth.

ISRAEL ATTACKED BY RUSSIAN LEAD COALITION.  Sounds like a newspaper headline, does it not? You might say to yourself that nothing like that could actually happen.  Really? The United States assembled a coalition to free the Iraqi people from the tyranny of a cruel dictatorship and to bring democracy to that area of the world. Is it so hard to imagine that Russia could form a coalition of Islamic states with the sole goal of wiping Israel off the map? Let’s look at Israel’s history and find out how many coalition forces have attacked her in the past.

Coalition Forces #1
May 14, 1948: On this date Israel declared herself an independent state. On that very date, the fledgling country was attacked from the north, east and south by forces from the Arab states of Egypt, Syria, Transjordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Israel came out the victor. (Number of countries involved: 7)

Coalition Forces #2
The Six Day’s War of June 5-10, 1967 was a war between Israel and the armies of the neighboring states of Egypt, Jordan and Syria. The nations of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria also contributed troops and arms to the Arab forces. Surrounded by enemies, Israel launched a pre-emptive attack against Egypt’s air force causing Jordan to attack Israel. When the war was over, Israel was victorious and had gained more land which had formally been occupied by her enemies. (Number of countries involved: 9)

Coalition Forces #3
The Yom Kippur War of October 6-26, 1973, Israel again found herself surrounded by an enemy coalition led by Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Iraq. Other nations played important roles as well. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan and Pakistan assisted with varying degrees of financial aid, ground forces combat pilots and military equipment. Even Cuba and Uganda sent forces to help defeat the Israelis. Israel won an against-the-odds victory. (Number of countries involved: 14)

As you can see, the number of countries involved in all these attempts to destroy Israel has increased each time. Who will be part of the next coalition forces to come against Israel? The list will include Iran, Sudan, Ethiopia, Lybia, Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey, Armenia, Syria, Lebanon and nothern Jordan.

Although Egypt participated in all three wars with Israel, Egypt will not attack Israel this time. Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel on March 26, 1979. This peace treaty has set into motion a peace process that has neutralized Egypt as a direct combatant of Israel. This helps set the stage for the war of Gog and Magog, since biblical prophecy does not include Egypt in the list of nations who will attack Israel.

Iraq was also involved in all three wars with Israel, but, like Egypt, biblical prophesy does not include Iraq among those nations who will form a coalition and attack Israel. Up until recently, no one would have believed that Iraq would sit out any war against Israel, but look at what has happened in just the past few years. A cruel dictatorship has been crushed, the people of Iraq have suffered war and terrorism. A brand new democratic government has taken shape, peace and new freedoms are being experienced by the men, women and children of that country. The last thing this newly democratic state will want is to make its people suffer again by being bogged down in another war.  At this point, Iraq’s military and police force are not even strong enough to care for it’s citizens apart from U.S. assistance.

So… biblical prophesy does not include Egypt or Iraq in the war of Gog and Magog, but it does include one new player; a player that’s operated in the background in past wars but who will come to the forefront at the time of this next war.. Russia.

Russia’s influence in the Islamic world is increasing dramatically. Vladimir Putin did not want to give up the presidency of Russia and tried to hold on to his position by having the constitution amended so that a sitting president could hold the office for more than two terms, but his attempt failed. Although he is now Russia’s Prime Minister, it is commonly held that the new president, Dmitry Medvedev, (who was Putin’s protégé) is considered a puppet president and that the true power of the presidency still resides with Putin.

When Putin entered office in 2000, he began rebuilding Russia’s tattered alliances with the Middle East. Since that time, he has mended relationships with Iran, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Algeria and Egypt and other Islamic countries. He has also met with the Palestinian Authority and the Hamas leadership.

But what is the name of the person who may be the one to truly assemble this large coalition of Islamic nations? Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky may be the man to watch. He is preparing to run for the Russian presidency in 2012. His #2 man states that Zhirinovsky wants to be like Stalin and Lenin. He wants to build a coalition; to have power and make Russia number one in the world again. His goal is to rebuild the Byzantine Empire, which would include the countries of Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt… and Israel. Does this list of players sound familiar?

So, one way or another, whoever is in power in Russia, whether it be Putin, Medvedev, Zhirinovsky or someone else, Russia will continue to strengthen it’s relationships with the Islamic world.

PUTIN CALLS RUSSIA ISLAMIC WORLD’S MOST RELIABLE ALLY
Moscow (CNSNews.com) – “Russia is the Islamic world’s most reliable partner,” President Vladimir Putin said in Chechnya on Monday, implying that by attacking Russia, terrorists were doing their cause a disservice.

Putin paid a surprise visit to Grozny, capital of the war-torn Islamic region, to address the opening of the first session of the local parliament.

“Russia has always been the most faithful, reliable and consistent defender of the interests of the Islamic world,” he told Chechen lawmakers, to applause. “Russia has always been the best and most reliable partner and ally.”

“By destroying Russia, these people [terrorists] destroy one of the main pillars of the Islamic world in the struggle for rights in the international arena, the struggle for their legitimate rights,” Putin added.

He said the leaders of key Islamic states understood this, which was why the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League sent observers to monitor recent elections and a referendum on a constitution for Chechnya.

While Western organizations refused to serve as observers, the Arab and Islamic bodies sent delegates and gave the elections their approval.

Expanding on Russia’s ties to the Muslim world, Putin said OIC member states had unanimously agreed to admit Moscow as a permanent observer.

“Recently a delegation of Russian Muslims has been to Mecca to discuss the problems of Muslim world development with their brothers,” he said. “Russia will pursue this policy.”

Russia has a total population of some 144 million, of which more than 20 million are Muslims.

Although the OIC agreed to make Russia a permanent observer, a request from India to join the body four years ago was turned down.

India is a predominantly Hindu country, but its Muslim minority is the second largest Muslim community in the world, after Indonesia, and is much bigger than Russia’s.

Putin’s comments are seen here as the latest step in a strategy to reposition Russia as a strong ally of the Islamic world.
