I’m Done!

Posted: July 15, 2013 in Christianity

I’m done!  These two words should make all my naysayers jump for joy.  I’ve come across roadblock after roadblock in trying to continue on with what I’m doing and I’ve finally had enough.  I’m done with living at the shelter, unable to do any type of job search because I can’t get my phone back from my daughter; I’m done holding out hope that my sister will come to her senses and let me pick up a few things at her house such as my resume and other important documents (remember, she said I had to come and take everything or nothing); I’m done with all the haters in my family; I’m done with just “existing” at the shelter, waiting for 6 PM (supper) and 8PM (bed) all the while surrounded by men who swear, use disgusting language and make comments about women that make me sick to my stomach; I’m done with just about everything.  I just want to push the world away and just exist on my own.  I know the enemy has his hand in this, but I don’t really care right now, that’s how disgusted I am with almost everyone and almost everything.

There have been two bright lights in my life these past few weeks, and those have been my friend Nancy from my church, and Pastor Jose, who takes time out of his day once or twice a week to offer this lonely soul some fellowship.  Of course, I still have my faith in the Lord, but I am having difficulty understanding exactly what He wants from me lately.  I don’t have the opportunity to be alone with Him as much as I used to, so my “alone time” with Him has suffered.

Just when I thought I couldn’t get beat down any more than I was, I went to the shelter to get my belonging and they told me that I had to come back at 3PM to retrieve them.  Yep, that’s life at the shelter… waiting.  Needless to say, I just told them to forget it and walked away.

So what’s up for me now that I’m done?  I don’t know.  I plan to be on the streets and just “exist” for a while.  I have no desire to do anything but just be alone with the Lord.

And to think, there was a good job offer listed on the board at the library for an Administrative Assistant at our local Head Start program… a job I wanted to apply for until I found out that I’d have to wait yet another day to get my phone… that’s if my daughter wasn’t lying to me again.  Yep, that’s one of the things the enemy used to get me to this point.  She promised me she would bring my phone to me on Saturday at 9:15 AM.  By almost noon I was already sending her texts and fb messages asking her where she was.  She told me she was filling out a job application and had to make a couple of calls and then she’d drop the phone off to me.  I waited, skipping lunch so that I wouldn’t miss her, until 3PM when I had to make my way back to the shelter.  My heart was broken because I had hoped that my daughter was telling me the truth only to find out that she had no intention of bringing the phone to me that day.

When I contacted her today about the phone and found out that she wanted to bring it to me tomorrow, something inside me died.  Was it hope?  It may have been.  Was it any miniscule amount of trust I still had left in her?  Probably.  Whatever it was, it made me throw my hands up and say, “I’m done.”

So, I’m mentally exhausted and taking a mental break for the next few hours, days, weeks or months… however long it takes.  I’m done and I don’t know when I’ll be ready to stand up again and take another step.  Right now, I want to sit down and just watch the world go by.  I have no desire or ambition to do anything other than walk away from the stress, the responsibility, and people’s expectations of me.  Pray for me, if I come to mind.

Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

This portion of scripture is one of the staples of our Christian walk.  We quote it when describing marriages, friendships, business dealings, etc…  But there is a deeper meaning to this scripture than I had been taught.  Let’s look at this from a Jewish perspective.

During Jesus’ ministry here on earth, a yoke was a Rabbi’s way of interpreting the Torah.  The way to find out what a Rabbi’s yoke was, was to ask hm what he thought was the most important commandment.

What was Jesus’ yoke?  Let’s see what His answer was when He was asked what the most important commandment was:

Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:36-40

So what is Jesus’ yoke? Love God/ Love your neighbor.  If that’s the yoke, then what’s the burden we’re pulling along with us? The burden is keeping the word of God.

The yoke is used to make the burden lighter.  If the yoke is to love God and to love our neighbor, then love compels us to keep the word of God, making the burden of keeping God’s word easier, lighter, doesn’t it?

Being unequally yoked is being unable to keep up with the other person you’re yoked to because of size or ability or because of walking in opposing directions.  If the yoke you’ve taken up causes you to walk beside someone other than Jesus, then you are automatically unequally yoked.

We can apply the yoke to different areas of our lives, like marriage, relationships, etc… but I believe the crux of this scripture is all about Jesus!  If we’re not yoked with Him then who or what are we yoked to?  Religion?  Self?  Poverty?  Stress?  Anger?

We need to be yoked to Jesus.  He’ll never take us in a direction we shouldn’t be going in or move faster than we can bear.

Here is a list of four major feasts that have already been fulfilled by Jesus.

1. Passover (Pesach): Foreshadowed Yeshua, YHWH’s “Passover Lamb” who fulfilled Passover when he was crucified and willingly allowed His own blood to be shed on our behalf in order to become our redemption.
2. Unleavened Bread (Hag HaMatzot): Messiah Yeshua fulfilled this Feast when he was buried and became our righteousness (Rom. 6:4, II Cor. 5:21).  Jesus knew no sin.
3. Firstfruits (Yom HaBikkurim): Fulfilled when Yeshua, the Firstruits of Creation, rose from the dead (I Corinthians 15:-20-23).
4. Feast of Weeks (Shavuot) – Known by Christians as “Pentecost”: Fulfilled by the coming of the promised Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) on the disciples of Yeshua in the Temple.  (Acts 2, John 14:15-18, Ephesians 2:11-22).

So of the seven major feasts, the first four have been fulfilled.  There are three remaining.

We see a pattern emerging in the Feasts that shadows the steps of the Messiah. There is really no denying the accuracy of the life of Jesus Christ to that of the first three feasts. The gift of the Holy Spirit was the fulfillment of Pentecost the 4th feast. If we kept with the pattern of the Feasts with the eyes of a bride prepared for her wedding we will keep the order of the feast.

There are several reasons to believe that the rapture will happen on the Feast of Trumpets. First, if we examine the Feast of Pentecost we see that this feast runs parallel with the order of the bridegroom making a covenant with his bride called a ketubah. This happened at Mount Sinai when God made a covenant with Israel in the month of Sivan which is the month of Pentecost. In Jeremiah 31:31-32, God said, Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. This covenant was a marriage contract written upon tablets and sealed with the sprinkling of blood ( Ex 24:1-8 ). A contract that could not be fulfilled by Israel therefore God sought for a new covenant not like the one at Sinai. On Pentecost 32 AD, God sent His Holy Spirit to write this new covenant on our hearts by the Spirit as Paul says, “our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant , not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Cor 3:5-6). This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people (Heb 8:10).

After a bridegroom gave his bride a contract and made a covenant with her he would give her gifts called a mattan and the father would give her gifts as well called the shiluhhim. These gifts sustained his bride for the duration of their separation till their wedding day. The gift given by Jesus Christ and the Father was the gift of the Holy Spirit to sustain us till Jesus returns for His bride.  This was fulfilled at Pentecost fifty days after the resurrection of the Messiah. The requirement to bring a first fruit of the wheat harvest was symbolic of those who receive the Spirit of God. “We ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons” (Rom 8:23).

The Feast of Trumpets is the best fit for the rapture of the bride and is consistent with Jewish marriage customs. We need to look at the Feast with Jewish eyes. The Jews had several idioms for the Feast of Trumpets that are significant in identifying the nature of this feast. The feast was referred as “No one knows the day or hour”. It was referred to this because it was celebrated by the first appearing of the moon. This could be difficult if there was any overcast, therefore, the feast could be delayed. No one literally knew the day or hour it would be celebrated. If after two days the new moon could not be detected then it was celebrated. The two days were considered one.

This feast was also referred to as the “Last Trumpet”. It got this name because tradition has it that the trump or rams horn was blown for thirty days up till the feast and then the last trump was blown signaling the celebration of the feast. These two idioms for the Feast of Trumpets give us insight into the Jewish mind. This is reflected in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed” (1 Cor. 15:51-52). The last trumpet is referring to the Feast of Trumpets and reveals the day of the resurrection of the Saints and catching away or rapture. The idiom “No one knows the day or hour” spoken by Jesus was also the Jewish idiom for the “Feast of Trumpets”, “But of that day and hour no one knows (Matt 24:36). Just before Jesus said this He said, “So, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door” (Matt 24:33-34). How close “The Feast of Trumpet”!!!!!

Here are the signs to look for. Just when the bride of Christ is recognized she will be gone. The Feast was celebrated at the first appearing of the moon, which is not its own reflection but that of the sun’s. When we see the bride emerge from all the others she will be reflecting the glory of the Lord. As of now the true meaning of Jesus’ bride has not been understood even by those who are called by His name. The Shulammite in the Song of Songs is the epitome of the bride of Christ she says, “Before I realized it, my desire set me over the royal chariots of my people” (Song 6:12). She was caught up above her people and her desire was that of intimacy. Desire here in this verse is the Hebrew word “yada”. Her people, i.e. Church says, “Come back, come back, O Shulammite; come back, come back, that we may gaze on you” (Song 6:12)! Once the bride is taken out from among her people there will be a cry to know more about her and to be with her as well. But Jesus reply’s, “Why would you gaze on the Shulammite as on the dance of Mahanaim” (Song 6:13). The dance of the Mahanaim was a dance where the young virgins would go out and dance. As they danced, men would come and steal them to be their bride’s. His reply to them is why do you look for the bride she has been stolen by me!

2011???

Look for the rapture on the Feast of Trumpets in the month of September and October of each year where there is 86 moon duration, like the year 2011, and you will be closer to what Scripture has revealed about the 7 year covenant and rapture lengths.

Some of my source material was copied from:  http://www.unveilingthebride.com/rapture-pentecost-or-feast-of-trumpets

To those of us who feel the urgency building to increase our efforts in witnessing to our small part of a lost world, we can’t help but think about our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and others who will be left behind after the rapture.  We know that not everyone we know will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior before the Lord returns for his “bride.”  So what do we do for those left behind… for those we know and love?

Just because we will be absent from this world for a while, it doesn’t mean we can’t continue to witness to those who are left behind.  Here are a few things that I believe we can do to help those who are seeking the truth in a world that is preparing to enter in to a seven-year tribulation.

1.  We need to get the word out as urgently and as lovingly as we can before we leave.  We have to prepare that soil or plant that seed or water that seed before we leave.  There is nothing more important than that.  Along with this, we must share our belief in the coming rapture and tribulation.  We must get that warning out before the Lord returns.

2.  We need to put together a packet of information for those left behind.  You can create a “generic” packet that can be left or given to anyone.  You can also individualize it in a way that speaks to a particular person in your life.  What kind of information am I referring to?

a.  Tracts.  Tracts are very important.  There are plenty of really good tracts out there that explain the process of becoming a born again believer in Christ.  There are also tracts out there that explain about the rapture.

b.  Bible.  A bible will be an important tool for the new believer in the tribulation.  There are plenty of inexpensive paperback bibles out there on the market.  You can either purchase a full paperback bible or you can purchase the New Testament in paperback.  Either way, we need to leave a copy of the word of God behind for those seeking answers.

c.  Personal Message.  Many of us have a web cam, camcorder or phone that can take videos.  We can use that technology to create a brief message explaining in our own words what has just taken place (the rapture) and what is about to occur in the near future (the tribulation).  It also gives us a chance to share the salvation message in our own words to those we have left behind.  Once that’s downloaded into your computer, you can burn DVD’s of this message or audio CD’s of the message.

d.  Music.  There is so much royalty free Christian music out there that it would be easy to find songs that would bless the new Christian in their new walk with the Lord.  Rip or download those songs that you believe would be most beneficial and encouraging to the new believer and rip it to a CD.

e.  Internet Resources.  There are a myriad of Christian web sites out there.  Find those that adequately describe what you need everyone to know about salvation through Christ, the rapture and the tribulation.  Make a list of these web sites and print out a copy to include in your packet.  A great website to list is www.tribulationharvest.com.

f.  Additional Materials.  Add any additional materials that you feel someone might appreciate.

g. MP3 Player.  A friend (kellygirl) suggested that music and helpful sermons could be downloaded to an MP3 player and included in the packet.  If you go that route, you might also want to upload an audio version of your personal message on the MP3 player instead of including a CD in the packet.  Since an MP3 player costs money, you may want to do this only for those who are closest to you, unless you have the money to include it in all your packets (depending on how many packets you plan to create, of course).

Find some inventive way of packaging up this information.  No matter how you decide to pack up the information, remember to include a label describing what’s in the packet.  Example:  “Emergency Rapture Kit” or “In Case Of Rapture, Open Immediately!”  Here are some ideas on how to package up your “Rapture Kit”:

1.  Plastic zip-lock bag.  This will not only keep everything together, but it will protect the contents from dirt and liquids.

2.  Plastic wrap.  It will not only protect the contents, but it will also help keep things tightly bundled together.

3.  Plastic container.  The amount of information you’re leaving behind will dictate the size of the container.

4.  Cardboard box.  Again, the size of the box will depend on what you’re including in the packet.

5.  Large manila mailing envelope.

However you package up the information, remember that it should be clearly marked so that there is no doubt what the packaging contains.

Here are some ideas on what to do with the packet when it’s completed:

1.  Give one to family members, friends, etc… who do not have a relationship with Jesus.  Now there are those who will not even want to look at the information.  In that case, ask them to do you a personal favor and put the information in a safe place so that when the rapture happens, they can retrieve the packet and find out what happened, what’s coming next and what they can do to be sure they spend eternity with God.  If they know you’re giving them the option of whether to look at it or not, they’ll most likely take the packet and tuck it away.

2.  Hand them out to neighbors or strangers on the street.

3.  Leave some in a conspicuous area in your house, like near your video tapes, CD’s, DVD’s, books, etc… where they will be easily found.

4.  Leave a packet or two at work.  Place them in your desk drawer or locker at work to become a witness to your co-workers.

5.  Donate one to your local library.

6.  Show the packet to your church and suggest the church create packets to leave behind in the sanctuary or Pastor’s office so that those flocking to the church after the rapture will find that valuable information.

7.  Leave a packet in your glove box in your vehicle.

8.  Carry one with you.  If you carry a large pocketbook, keep a packet with you to give out or to leave behind (after all, you’re not taking your pocketbook with you…lol).

9.  Leave a copy where you keep your important paperwork (last will and testament, home insurance, mortgage papers, birth certificates, etc…)

These are just a few examples on how you can share or store your packets so that anyone left behind will be able to access this important information.

The important thing to remember is that however you package up the information and however you give them out or store them, you are taking steps to continue witnessing to the lost and unsaved world even after you’re gone.

I look forward to hearing how you would package up the information or what you would add to the packet or how you would store or give out the packet.  God bless and let’s keep the word alive even after we’ve been taken home.

Additional suggestions for sharing the word of God after you’ve been raptured:

Upload your video and audio information to your:

1.  Game System.  I’ve uploaded information to my XBOX360 for anyone to find when they access the game system.

2.  Computer/Tablet.  Put a shortcut on your desktop that is separate from all your other shortcuts and describes what it links to.  Example: Emergency Rapture Info.

3.  Cell phone.  Add your own personal video or audio to your cell phone.  Anyone left behind who is searching through your media files will find it.

4.  MP3 Player.  Add video or audio to your own personal MP3 player to be accessed by anyone who finds it.

If you, the reader, have any more suggestions, please let me know.  I will seriously consider placing them in this blog.

Why is Jesus taking so long to return?  What is He waiting for?

I will attempt to answer this question without adding a lot of details that may make this blog difficult to get though…lol.  So here we go!

Jesus is our Bridegroom, but many Christians don’t understand what that means.  In Jewish tradition, if a man wanted to marry a woman, he went to the woman’s father and asked for his permission to marry his daughter.  The father would then inform the potential groom of the “bride price” or “ketubah.”  If the potential groom agreed to this price, he would pay it or, if he didn’t have enough money, he would leave and work until he had saved up the entire amount.  Then he would return to the potential bride’s father weeks, months or years later with the amount agreed upon.

(Let me state clearly here that the bridegroom was not “purchasing” his wife.  The “ketubah” is belongs to the wife and is used to support her and any children they may have had together in the event the marriage was dissolved.)

When the “bride price” was paid, the potential bride would be asked to make a decision as to whether she wanted to marry the potential groom.  The potential bride was offered a cup of wine.  If she drank from it, then the agreement was made.  The groom would then go back to his father’s house to prepare the bridal chamber.  This preparation could take up to a year to be completed. That’s not the end of the ceremony, but let’s stop here for a moment and compare this with what Jesus did.

The cup of wine:  Jesus offered us that cup of wine at the Last Supper.  When the disciples took the wine offered by Jesus, they were accepting Jesus offer for a new life with Him in His Father’s house.  When we take communion, we are remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made in order for us to be with Him for eternity.

The bride price (ketubah):  Jesus’ desire is that we should all believe in Him and live with Him forever, but there was a “ketubah” that was required.  What was this “bride price” that Jesus paid?  It was a price that no one had ever been asked to pay in the history of the world, and a price that would never be asked of again.  That price was Jesus’ life.  He paid the “bride price” by being beaten, whipped, spit upon, degraded and then crucified upon the cross.   He paid the ultimate price to the Father for His bride (all true born again believers in Christ).

Back to His Father’s house:  When Jesus went to heaven, He went back to His Father’s house to “prepare a place for you.”  He went to go prepare the bridal chamber.  How great is that!!!

Now back to the marriage ceremony
During the time that the groom was preparing the marriage chamber, the bride would wear a veil to signify that she had been promised in marriage to someone and that she was no longer single.  Anyone seeing her would know that she was “off the market” because of her appearance.

The veil:  Today, all true born again believers in Christ have this “veil”… this symbol of our promised marriage to the Bridegroom.  That symbol is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  It is He who is in us and covers us and causes us to live our lives in a way that people can look at us and say, “He/She belongs to the Lord.”

Now as the bridegroom is preparing the bridal chamber, the bridegroom’s father keeps an eye on the progress.  It’s only when the bridegroom’s father says the bridal chamber is ready that the bridegroom can go and retrieve his bride.  To do that, he gathers his male friends together in the middle of the night and heads off to the bride’s father’s house.  They carry torches and make quite a bit of noise on their way there, including blowing the shofar. The bride constantly anticipates the groom’s arrival.  When the bride knows the bridegroom is coming, she prepares herself.  It’s an exciting time for everyone.  The bridegroom and his friends then whisk the bride away to the bridal chamber where they remain for seven days while everyone else waits for them to emerge at the end of this period.

Waiting for the Father to say go:  Jesus is preparing a place for us (mansions) and is preparing the marriage feast.  As the Bridegroom, He must wait for the Father to say that everything that needs to be done is completed and that He can now go and get His bride.

Anticipating the Groom’s arrival:  We’re told in bible to be prepared for the Lord’s return at all times.  Don’t fall asleep or assume that the Lord will be long in coming, because the Bridegroom can come at any time.

Making noise:  Jesus will come with the angels, making a lot of noise.  There will be a shout of the archangel and a trumpet will be sounded.

The Bride is taken:  He will come at that exciting moment and steal us away to be with Him forever.

Seven days:  Just like the bride and groom would be in the bridal chamber for seven days, we will be with the Lord for seven years.  When the seven years is up, we will exit the “bridal chamber” and return to earth with the Lord at His second coming.

God created the wedding ritual, the Jewish feasts, etc… not only to signify an event in the bible, but also to mirror the life of the Messiah.  Jesus is our Bridegroom.  He is preparing the bridal chamber for His bride.  He is just waiting for our Father to tell Him to come back and retrieve His bride.  When He does, there will be a great shout and the blowing of a trumpet.  At that moment, all true born-again believers in Christ will be changed, at the twinkling of an eye.  We will be changed from corruptible to incorruptible, from mortal to immortal, to finally be with Jesus forever in heaven.

Well I finally did it.  I created my own web site.  It’s called, TRIBULATION HARVEST.” It’s a web site that explains end time biblical prophecy; mainly the rapture and the seven-year tribulation.  I also hope to be able to offer a packet of information for sale on my web site in the very near future.  If you’d like to take a look at my new site, just click here.

I welcome any feedback, good or bad.  Please leave feedback at the web site or here on my blog.  If you leave positive feedback, I may include it on my home page along with some other very glowing comments that I’ve received from others who have visited my site.

God Bless!!!

My Theory On Global Warming

Posted: December 4, 2010 in Uncategorized

Here’s my theory on global warming. I found this article at http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2008/16dec_giantbreach/  and I thought it was very interesting.  Please read it and let me know if you think that this could be a contributor or even the “smoking gun” to global warming.

On 06/03/07, NASA’s five THEMIS spacecraft discovered a breach in Earth’s magnetic field ten times larger than anything previously thought to exist. Solar wind can flow in through the opening to “load up” the magnetosphere for powerful geomagnetic storms. But the breach itself is not the biggest surprise. Researchers are even more amazed at the strange and unexpected way it forms, overturning long-held ideas of space physics.

“At first I didn’t believe it,” says THEMIS project scientist David Sibeck of the Goddard Space Flight Center. “This finding fundamentally alters our understanding of the solar wind-magnetosphere interaction.”

The magnetosphere is a bubble of magnetism that surrounds Earth and protects us from solar wind. Exploring the bubble is a key goal of the THEMIS mission, launched in February 2007. The big discovery came on June 3, 2007, when the five probes serendipitously flew through the breach just as it was opening. Onboard sensors recorded a torrent of solar wind particles streaming into the magnetosphere, signaling an event of unexpected size and importance. “The opening was huge—four times wider than Earth itself,” says Wenhui Li, a space physicist at the University of New Hampshire who has been analyzing the data. Li’s colleague Jimmy Raeder, also of New Hampshire, says “1027 particles per second were flowing into the magnetosphere—that’s a 1 followed by 27 zeros. This kind of influx is an order of magnitude greater than what we thought was possible.”

The event began with little warning when a gentle gust of solar wind delivered a bundle of magnetic fields from the Sun to Earth. Like an octopus wrapping its tentacles around a big clam, solar magnetic fields draped themselves around the magnetosphere and cracked it open. The cracking was accomplished by means of a process called “magnetic reconnection.” High above Earth’s poles, solar and terrestrial magnetic fields linked up (reconnected) to form conduits for solar wind. Conduits over the Arctic and Antarctic quickly expanded; within minutes they overlapped over Earth’s equator to create the biggest magnetic breach ever recorded by Earth-orbiting spacecraft.

The size of the breach took researchers by surprise. “We’ve seen things like this before,” says Raeder, “but never on such a large scale. The entire day-side of the magnetosphere was open to the solar wind.”

The circumstances were even more surprising. Space physicists have long believed that holes in Earth’s magnetosphere open only in response to solar magnetic fields that point south. The great breach of June 2007, however, opened in response to a solar magnetic field that pointed north.

“To the lay person, this may sound like a quibble, but to a space physicist, it is almost seismic,” says Sibeck. “When I tell my colleagues, most react with skepticism, as if I’m trying to convince them that the sun rises in the west.”

My reaction to this article was to question how many times this happens to earth’s magnetosphere per year and to question if this is why the global climate is changing. If it’s happening more frequently, then the earth would logically become warmer. Does anyone agree that this could be a possibility?

It is a common belief that the “Arab Israel conflict” is a conflict of two peoples fighting over the same piece of land and is therefore one of nationalism. Rarely, if ever, do we hear or read of the religious component to this conflict.

However, if anything, the conflict is more of a “Muslim-Jewish” one than an “Arab-Israeli” one. In other words, the conflict is based on religion — Islam vs. Judaism — cloaked in Arab nationalism vs. Zionism. The fact of the matter is that in every Arab-Israeli war, from 1948 to the present, cries of “jihad,” “Allahu Akbar,” and the bloodcurdling scream of “Idbah al- Yahud” (slaughter the Jews) have resonated amongst even the most secular of Arab leaders, be it Nasser in the 1950s and 1960s or the supposedly “secular” PLO of the 1960s to the present. Indeed, the question must be asked: If this is really a conflict of different nationalisms and not Islamic supremacism, then why is it that virtually no non-Arab Muslim states have full (if any) relations with Israel?

There is a common Arabic slogan that is chanted in the Middle East: “Khaybar, Khaybar! Oh Jews, remember. The armies of Muhammad are returning!” It would be most interesting to know how many people have ever heard what — or more precisely, where — Khaybar is, and what the Arabs mean by such a slogan. A short history of the Jews of Arabia is needed in order to explain this, and why Islam remains so inflexible in its hostile attitude towards Jews and Israel.

Until the founder of Islam, Muhammad ibn Abdallah, proclaimed himself “Messenger of Allah” in the 7th century, Jews and Arabs lived together peacefully in the Arabian Peninsula. Indeed, the Jews — and Judaism — were respected to such an extent that an Arab king converted to Judaism in the 5th century. His name was Dhu Nuwas, and he ruled over the Himyar (present day Yemen) area of the Arabian Peninsula. In fact, it is most likely that the city of Medina (the second-holiest city in Islam) — then called Yathrib — was originally founded by Jews. In any event, at the time of Muhammad’s “calling,” three important Jewish tribes existed in Arabia: Banu Qurayza, Banu Nadir, and Banu Qaynuqa.

Muhammad was very keen on having the Jews accept him as a prophet to the extent that he charged his followers not to eat pig and to pray in the direction of Jerusalem. However, the Jews apparently were not very keen on Muhammad, his proclamation of himself as a prophet, or his poor knowledge of the Torah (Hebrew Bible). Numerous verbal altercations are recorded in the Qur’an and various Hadiths about these conflicts between the Jewish tribes and Muhammad.

Eventually, the verbal conflicts turned into physical conflicts, and when the Jews outwardly rejected Muhammad as the “final seal of the prophets,” he turned on them with a vengeance. The atrocities that were committed against these tribes are too numerous to cite in a single article, but two tribes, the Qaynuqa and Nadir, were expelled from their villages by Muhammad. It appears that the Qaynuqa left Arabia around 624 A.D. The refugees of the Nadir settled in the village of Khaybar.

In 628 A.D., Muhammad turned on the last Jewish tribe, the Qurayza, claiming that they were in league with Muhammad’s Arab pagan enemies and had “betrayed” him. Muhammad and his army besieged the Qurayza, and after a siege of over three weeks, the Qurayza surrendered. While many Arabs pleaded with Muhammad to let the Qurayza leave unmolested, Muhammad had other plans. Unlike expelling the Qaynuqa and Nadir, Muhammad exterminated the Qurayza, with an estimated 600 to 900 Jewish men being beheaded in one day. The women and children were sold into slavery, and Muhammad took one of the widows, Rayhana, as a “concubine.”

In 629 A.D., Muhammad led a campaign against the surviving Jews of Nadir, now living in Khaybar. The battle was again bloody and barbaric, and the survivors of the massacre were either expelled or allowed to remain as “second-class citizens.” Eventually, upon the ascension of Omar as caliph, most Jews were expelled from Arabia around the year 640 A.D.

This brings us, then, to the question of why modern-day Muslims still boast of the slaughter of the Jewish tribes and the Battle of Khaybar. The answer lies in what the Qur’an — and later on, the various Hadiths — says about the Jews. The Qur’an is replete with verses that can be described only as virulently anti-Semitic. The amount of Surahs is too numerous to cite, but a few will suffice: Surah 2:75 (Jews distorted the Torah); 2:91 (Jews are prophet-killers), 4:47 (Jews have distorted the Bible and have incurred condemnation from Allah for breaking the Sabbath), 5:60 (Jews are cursed, and turned into monkeys and pigs), and 5:82 (Jews and pagans are the strongest in enmity to the Muslims and Allah). And of course, there is the genocidal Hadith from Sahih Bukhari, 4:52:177, which would make Adolph Hitler proud. “The Day of Judgment will not have come until you fight with the Jews, and the stones and the trees behind which a Jew will be hiding will say: ‘O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him!”‘ Thus, the Arab Muslims had their own “final solution” in store for the Jews already in the 7th century.

The fact that Muslims still point to these (and many other) hateful verses in the Qur’an and Hadith should give Jews — not just Israelis — pause to consider if there can ever be true peace between Muslims and Jews, let alone between Muslims and Israel. When the armies of Islam occupied the area of Byzantine “Palestine” in the 7th century, the land became part of “Dar al-Islam” (House of Islam). Until that area is returned to Islam, (i.e., Israel’s extermination), she remains part of “Dar al harb” (House of War). It now becomes clear that this is a conflict of religious ideology and not a conflict over a piece of “real estate.”

Finally, one must ask the question: Aside from non-Arab Turkey, whose relations with Israel are presently teetering on the verge of collapse, why is it that no other non-Arab Muslim country in the Middle East has ever had full relations (if any at all) with Israel, such as faraway countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan? Indeed, why would Persian Iran — conquered by the Arabs — have such a deep hatred for Jews and Israel, whereas a non-Muslim country such as India does not feel such enmity? The answer is painfully clear: The contempt in which the Qur’an and other Islamic writings hold Jews does not exist in the scriptures of the Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and other Eastern religions. Therefore, people that come from non-Muslim states do not have this inherent hatred towards Jews, and by extension, towards Israel. But when a people — or peoples — is raised with a scripture that regards another people and religion as immoral and less than human, then it is axiomatic why such hatred and disdain exists on the part of Muslims for Jews and Israel. I

slam — as currently interpreted and practiced — cannot accept a Jewish state of any size in its midst. Unless Muslims come to terms with their holy writings vis-à-vis Jews, Judaism, and Israel and go through some sort of “reformation,” it will be unlikely that true peace will ever come to the Middle East. In the meantime, unless Islam reforms, Israel should accept the fact that the Muslims will never accept Israel as a permanent fact in the Middle East and the current Israeli Palestinian Conflict is only the tip of the iceberg to a coming greater conflict.

LIE #1 – Israel was created by European guilt over the Nazi Holocaust. Why should Palestinians pay the price?

Three thousand years before the Holocaust, before there was a Roman Empire, Israel’s kings and prophets walked the streets of Jerusalem. The whole world knows that Isaiah did not speak his prophesies from Portugal, nor Jeremiah his lamentations from France. Revered by its people, Jerusalem is mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures 600 times – but not once in the Koran. Throughout its 2,000-year exile there was continuous Jewish presence in the Holy Land, with the modern rebirth of Israel beginning in the 1800s. Reclamation of the largely vacant land by pioneering Zionists blossomed into a Jewish majority long before the onset of Nazism.

After the Holocaust, nearly 200,000 Shoah survivors found haven in the Jewish State, created by a two-thirds vote of the UN in 1947. Soon 800,000 Jews fleeing persecution in Arab countries arrived. In ensuing decades, Israel absorbed a million immigrants from the Soviet Union and thousands of Ethiopian Jews. Today, far from being a vestige of European guilt or colonialism, Israel is a diverse, cosmopolitan society, fulfilling the age-old dream of a people’s journey and ‘Return to Zion’- their ancient homeland.

LIE #2 – Had Israel withdrawn to its June 1967 borders, peace would have come long ago.

Since 1967, Israel has repeatedly conceded, “land for peace.” Following Egyptian President Sadat’s historic 1977 visit to Jerusalem and the Camp David Peace Accords, Israel withdrew from the vast Sinai Peninsula and has been at peace with Egypt ever since.

In 1995, Jordan signed a peace treaty with Israel but neither the Palestinians nor 21 other Arab states have done so. In 1993, Israel signed the Oslo Accords ceding administrative control of the West Bank to the Palestinian Authority(formerly the PLO). The PA never fulfilled its promise to end propaganda attacks and drop the Palestinian National Charter’s call for Israel’s destruction.

In 2000, Prime Minister Barak offered Yasser Arafat full sovereignty over 97% of the West Bank, a corridor to Gaza, and a capitol in the Arab section of Jerusalem. Arafat said NO. In 2008, PA President Abbas nixed virtually the same offer from Prime Minister Olmert. In 2005, Prime Minister Sharon unilaterally withdrew from Gaza. Taken over by terrorist Hamas, they turned dismantled Jewish communities into launching sites for suicide bombers and 8,000+ rockets into Israel proper. In 2010, Prime Minister Netanyahu renewed offers of unconditional negotiations leading to a Palestinian State, but Palestinians refused, demanding more unilateral Israeli concessions, including a total freeze of all Israeli construction in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

LIE #3 – Israel is the main stumbling block to achieving a Two-State solution.

The Palestinians themselves are the only stumbling block to achieving a Two-State solution. With whom should Israel negotiate? With President Abbas, who, for four years, has been barred by Hamas from visiting 1.5 million constituents in Gaza? With his Palestinian Authority, which continues to glorify terrorists and preaches hate in its educational system and the media? With Hamas, whose Iranianbacked leaders deny the Holocaust and use fanatical Jihadist rhetoric to call for Israel’s destruction?

Today, it is a simple fact that while the State of Israel is prepared to recognize all Arab States, secular or Muslim, these states adamantly refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish State and demand “the right of return” of five million so-called Palestinian “refugees” – a sure guarantee for Israel’s demise.

LIE#4 – Nuclear Israel not Iran is the greatest threat to peace and stability.

Though never acknowledged by Jerusalem, it is generally assumed that Israel has nuclear weapons. But unlike Pakistan, India, and North Korea, Israel never conducted nuclear tests. In 1973, when its very survival was imperiled by the surprise Egyptian-Syrian Yom Kippur attack, many assumed Israel would use nuclear weapons–but it did not. Contrary to public condemnations, many Arab leaders privately express relief that Israeli nuclear deterrence exists. While Israel has never threatened anyone, Tehran’s mullahs daily threaten to “wipe Israel from the map.” The U.S. and Europe can afford to wait to see what the Iranian regime does with its nuclear ambitions. But Israel cannot. She is on the front lines and remembers every day the price the Jewish people paid for not taking Hitler at his word. Israel is not prepared to sacrifice another six million Jews on the altar of the world’s indifference.

LIE #5 – Israel is an Apartheid State deserving of International Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaigns.

On both sides of the Atlantic, church groups, academics and unions are leading deceitful and often anti-Semitic boycott campaigns demonizing what they call the Jewish “apartheid” State.

The truth is that unlike apartheid South Africa, Israel is a democratic state. Its 20% Arab minority enjoys all the political, economic and religious rights and freedoms of citizenship, including electing members of their choice to the Knesset (Parliament). Israeli Arabs and Palestinians have standing before Israel’s Supreme Court. In contrast, no Jew may own property in Jordan, no Christian or Jew can visit Islam’s holiest sites in Saudi Arabia.

LIE #6 – Plans to build 1,600 more homes in East Jerusalem prove Israel is ‘Judaizing’ the Holy City.

Enemies of Israel, exploit this phony issue. Jerusalem is holy to three great faiths. Its diverse population includes a Jewish majority with Muslim and Christian minorities. Since 1967, for the first time in history, there is full freedom of religion for all faiths in Jerusalem. Muslim and Christian religious bodies administer their own holy sites. Indeed, the Waqf is allowed to control Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, even though it rests on Solomon’s temple and is holy to BOTH Jews and Muslims.

Meanwhile, Jerusalem’s municipality must meet the needs of a growing modern city. The unfortunately-timed announcement during U.S. Vice President Biden’s visit of 1600 new apartments in Ramat Shlomo, was not about Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, but for a long established, heavily populated Jewish neighborhood in Northern Jerusalem, where 250,000 Jews live (about the same population as Newark, N.J.) — an area that will never be relinquished by Israel.

LIE #7 – Israeli policies endanger U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The charge that Israel endangers U.S. troops in Iraq or the AF-Pak region is an update of the old “stab in the back” lie that Jews always betray their own friends, and the libel spouted by Henry Ford and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion that “Jews are the father of all wars.”

U.S. General Petraeus has stated he considers Israel a great strategic asset for the U.S. and that his earlier remarks linking the safety of U.S. troops in the region to an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal (which 2/3 of Israelis want) were taken out of context. A resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict would benefit everyone, including the U.S. But an imposed return to what Abba Eban called “1967 Auschwitz borders” would endanger Israel’s survival and ultimately be disastrous for American interests and credibility in the world.

LIE #8 – Israeli policies are the cause of worldwide anti-Semitism.

From the Inquisition to the pogroms, to the 6,000,000 Jews murdered by the Nazis, history proves that Jew-hatred existed on a global scale before the creation of the State of Israel. In 2010, it would still exist even if Israel had never been created. For example, one poll indicates 40% of Europeans blame the recent global economic crisis on “Jews having too much economic power,” a canard that has nothing to do with Israel.

The unsettled Palestinian-Israeli dispute aggravates Muslim-Jewish tensions, but it is not the root cause. During World War II, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, a notorious Jewhater, helped the Nazis organize the 13th SS Division, made up of Muslims. Unfortunately, in addition to respectful references to Jewish patriarchs and prophets, the Koran also contains virulent anti-Semitic stereotypes that are widely invoked by Islamist extremists, including Hezbollah (whose agents blew up the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires in 1994), to justify murdering Jews worldwide. The disappearance of Israel would only further embolden violent Jew-haters everywhere.

LIE #9 – Israel, not Hamas, is responsible for the “humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza. Goldstone was right when he charged that Israel was guilty of war crimes against civilians.

The Goldstone Report on Israel’s defensive war against Hamas-controlled Gaza, from which 8,000 rockets were fired after Israel’s unilateral withdrawal in 2005, is a biased product of the UN’s misnamed Human Rights Council. The UNHRC is obsessed with false anti-Israel resolutions. It refuses to address grievous human rights abuses in Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Cuba and beyond.

Faced with similar attacks, every UN member-state including the U.S. and Canada would surely have acted more aggressively than the IDF did in Gaza.

Yet, Richard Goldstone, a South African Jewish jurist, signed a document prepared by investigators whose main qualification was rabid anti-Israel bias. He accepted every anonymous libel against the IDF. But he insisted that hearings in Gaza be televised, guaranteeing that fearful Palestinians would never testify about Hamas’ use of civilians as human shields and their hiding of weapons in mosques and hospitals. Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz denounced Goldstone’s Report as a modern “blood libel” accusing Israeli soldiers of crimes they never committed.

LIE #10 – The only hope for peace is a single, bi-national state, eliminating the Jewish State of Israel.

The One-State solution, promoted by academics, is a non-starter because it would eliminate the Jewish homeland. However, the current pressures on Israel are equally dangerous. In effect, the world is demanding that Israel, the size of New Jersey, shrink further by accepting a Three-State solution: a PA state on the West Bank and a Hamas terrorist state controlling 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza. All this, as Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy in Lebanon, stockpiles 50,000 rockets, threatening northern and central Israel’s main population centers.

In 2010, most Middle East experts believe that the only hope for enduring peace is two states with defined final borders. But too many diplomats, pundits, academics and church leaders ignore the fact that current polls show that while most Israelis favor a Two-State solution, most Palestinians continue to oppose it.

I borrowed some of this blog from a friend on another blog site.  I liked what he had to say, so I expanded a little on what he shared and this is the result.

People often say, “God loves everybody just they way they are.”  That may be true, but He also loves us too much to let us remain in our sin.

We cannot enter the kingdom of heaven in our present unsaved condition.  We must be born again to enter the kingdom of God.

As non-believers, our spiritual connection with God is severed.  It’s not until we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior that this connection is repaired so that we can have a direct line of communication to God and vice versa and begin building a lifelong relationship with Him.

God has revealed to us that we are sinners and unless that condition changes, we can’t enter into His kingdom.  Look at it this way: Just as you refuse to let somebody walk through your clean house with muddy boots on, God has a requirement for His home too.  You love your child, but he isn’t coming in the house until he takes off those muddy boots, no matter how much he sweet-talks you or tries to use his intellect to convince you otherwise.

It’s the same with God. He’s pretty much saying “come to me dirty, just the way you are.”  He even kneels down and takes those filthy boots off of us; all we have to do is let him.  But people still refuse, claiming those boots will be coming into God’s house in spite of what He says.

It’s our choice; do we take off those filthy boots or do we remain outside of God’s kingdom.
